So far in WIA...

So far in WIA we have learned a couple of things. How to blog, use pagemaker, make a yearbook, make a resume and edit pictures in photoshop. I think that either making the resume or editing pictures is the best I have learned so far. The resume making will help a lot when I get older and are looking for a job. The picture editing is cool because I can just mess around and make some sweet stuff for people.

Important Assets

Some important assets of me is I get stuff done nice and fast, its just how I like to work. I don't like to waste time by "taking my time". I usually plan what I'm doing first so I just fly right through. I also am pretty creative and reliable. I don't like to wait for people very much, so if we partner up, you better keep up.

Remembered as..

(Today I'm really tired so I wont write too much)I don't really care how I am remembered in the yearbook. I'll probably just be remembered as the only boy in my group that doesn't really talk that much. I'm not sure if that's it but I couldn't care less about it.

First Week of WIA

The first week of WIA was alright, I guess. I was just really tired which made things pretty frustrating for me. It started to pick up at around Wednesday when we started to do things like photoshop and windows movie maker. For the price we get paid, we barely did much. I mean, $250 for a week of "work". Well, I'm not really going to complain because it goes straight to my pocket. :D

Great Commercials

When I hear the word commercial I think of Orbit brand gum. They have many of them and they are pretty much the only commercials I ever pay attention to. They are very funny because instead of swearing they use words that start out similar such as "son of a biscuit eating bulldog" "what the french toast?" and a couple of others. I also think of Hubba Bubba because it is gum too. They somewhat have decent commercials but it still got me to buy it. They actually did there job good because the only gum I buy is either Orbit or Hubba Bubba because they are the best tasting ones but had the commercials to con me into getting it.

Hiring Attributes

There are certain things that you must look for when hiring a person. For me they are as follows:
honesty (if they lied on their application or not),
a good interview (if they stuttered or got nervous),
non suspicious (if they bite fingernails or avoid eye contact),

decent impression (if they dressed up or not to interview, if they just went as-is)
good first two weeks (they must get done the necessary training and orientation)

If an employee has 3 out of the above (minus the last one) they would be hired but watched upon until proven worthy.

My Business

My business is a video game designing business. Its called Crossfire Studio Productions. The picture isn't very cool looking anymore because the quality was messed up with all the transferring I guess. Since its kinda blurry I will type what it says.

"Crossfire Studio Productions"(Business Name) "Aim for the head"(Slogan) "crossfirestudios.com"(web address) "1-800-849-4937"(Phone Number)

The reason it says "Aim for the head" is because it is a first person shooter/war video game maker. The company only makes those too.

Business Logos

These are my 3 business logos that I would choose from if I were to start a game designing business. For the first logo, I chose it because I like how simple and recognizable it is. The second one has a decent name and nice design so it would be a good pick. For the last one, I chose Gamecock because I like the logo best and I would probably make a First Person Shooter game like the Halo series or Call of Duty. The eye on the "Gamecock" is similar to a crosshair so it fits in perfect.

Career Cruising

Today in breakout we went on CareerCruising.com and found out which careers were suited for according to the questions we were given. My top 10 is as follows:
1.Athletic Director
2.Computer Support Person
3.Video Game Developer
4.Business Systems Analyst
5.Webmaster
6.Multimedia Developer
7.Web Developer
8.Computer Scientist
9.Physical Education Teacher
10.Personal Trainer

As you can see, I like to stay active and I also like to play with electronics in my spare time. I think that I may go for either a Video Game Developer, Multimedia Developer or (even though they aren't on here) a Family Doctor or Pediatrician. For more info on these careers go to
http://www.careercruising.com/Main/Search.aspx?LoginID=9cbcde1c-c2db-402e-8a6b-8475c4d6d5ca-&Language=English and search whichever career your wondering about.

Whats WIA to me?

WIA stands for "Workforce Investment Agency". With that said, WIA, to me, is pretty much the exact opposite of summer school. Instead of paying to go to school, you GET paid to go to school(or something just like it) . In my course, Digital/Graphic Media, we will have to make a commericial in Windows Movie Maker which is pretty cool. This means I get to work with special effects, transitions, audio syncing etc. I might choose something like that for my career so this can be beneficial to me in many ways. I think of this more like school but with a specific subject that you go more in-depth with. Like if you wanted to be a nurse (or something like it) you would've probably chosen to go to the Health course, same thing with a Chef or Secretary. Well, thats pretty much my thoughts on WIA.
